For those of you who are looking to upgrade suspension but are on tight budget this is what I did cost me $100 for suspension around $100-150 for labor

heres what i did for a 400ex front end back in 2005. its more reinforced than what a bolt on relocator would be.
we cut the shock towers and raised them about 3 inches roughly. tack them on 1st and line everything up. one you get the desidered set up weld the towers on a tond make a brace in between the frame rails as you will see in the pics to help with strenghtening of the frame. you will have to remount the front fender brackets but they will support the fenders better. also use round tubing to gusset the frame as you will see in the pics. doing this will eliminate bump steer and will increase stability big time.

hopes this helps for anyone whos on a budget so you don't have to spend too mcuh money on a 300ex before you grow into a 400ex/z400 450etc

only problem with that is in the ama rulebook you cant move suspension points on the frame just to let everyone know who races great idea for trail riding though. as far as what this rule says or atleast how i interprate it.

3. Production Rule: OEM motor and matching frame combination model required. Frame geometry must remain as designed by the OEM, including all suspension pivot points. Material may be added for strength but not removed from the OEM frame. Engine modifications, frame reinforcements, and aftermarket A-arms, swing-arms and suspension are permitted. No engine displacement reduction permitted.

I am actually converting a 250X. Should be same. Did you make your own shock tower as seen in pic? What is the measurement center to center between the top bolt holes on the shocks. I will be using +2 400ex a-arms, standard travel..... Thanks.
