I use a chrome base and mix silver sparkles in the candy blue top coat and then clear over everything....makes it real deep. But I do it myself...not sure how much it would be at a shop.

I basically do the same thing. It takes a little experminting to get it exactly how you want it but well worth it in the end. Your best bet is to just let someone that has the experince do it for you.

Yea color top coats with a hobby gun are a real pain in the a**. You have to shot them hot. I've been using this Hotcoat gun of my buddys and it seems to help (more kv's). I was real happy when Kyle told me for this year he wants Super Miror Red and Super Miror White with our homemade metalic clear....... I love solid one coat colors....lol. This is the last blue top coat I did....no metalic.

bryan 10-4........ the big boys buy powder in 50#-100# boxs..... same way Columbia Coatings does (they don"t make it).....then CC sells it in small amounts for the little guy. Just tell him you want a candy blue with metalic. Them boys got high KV hopper guns. It's not cheep....that's why I build my oven and started doing my own stuff. I'm sure you have an old stand up metal cabinet.....you to can build your own oven........lol

OK that's it sorry. You'll have less in the oven that a candy top coat job from a shop.....unless you know the dude and he's going to fix you up. And then you can do all kinds of small sh@t.

We get all of our powder from Columbia as well. I am in the process of building a bigger oven now. Mike helped me out when I built my first oven. He def. knows his stuff!!

Hey mike what did you use for a tempature control switch? Can't find anything reasonably priced.

I havent seen Etondaddy on here in a while. He sent me a parts list, but I cant find it anymore. I remember him saying he went and bought a digital gauge, temp control. I would go to a place like Baker Distributors, or a Air conditioning parts warehouse. I know that Baker Distributors here in our town has them. Also check Johnson Controls. They are a company that specializes in temp control switchs and boards. Good Luck.

Okay thanks a ton. I was checking out the McMaster Carr book at work, and the prices for some of their stuff was ridiculous. I think my bro has etondaddy's number ill give him a call tonight.
