Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone could help me with my 2001 Chevy S10. On my way home from my gf's house yesterday, I noticed a high pitched noise. The noise gets louder as I hit the throttle and seems be be coming from under the truck. I listened to it at an idle and its running fine but it seems to be coming from the back of the truck on the driver's side. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump since I hear it with the engine off and the ignition on, and it seems that the usual whine has gotten louder. I'm just wondering if you guys can confirm this or think it might be something else. Thanks for any input.

If you hear it click on when you turn the key forward without starting it then its the fuel pump. They seem to always be noisy on these trucks could it be going out idk mine has been loud for over a year lol. if it does its easy to replace just take off the bed instead of dropping the tank.

yeah i do thats why I'm thinking that, but I also hear it get louder when I accelerate which is making me think it might be a vaccum leak also.

With the engine off, turn the key to the run position, do you hear the noise for about 2-5 seconds?
