Not running when hot is usually an ignition/coil type problem

Being that it is a '04 I'm betting that the valves need adjusted, when is the last time you did this or had it done?

Ya they can do it, it will probably take them a hour to a hour and a half to do it, so you're looking at about 150 bucks for them to do it or you can do it yourself. If you are mechanically inclined I would do it yourself. Here is a link with step by step pictures and directions on how to do it. You will need some feeler gages and some shims. If you don't think you can do it then I would just take it to the dealer and have them do it so you don't mess anything up, why you are in there I would do the cammod to, it gives you more power in the mid to top end.

You're welcome, even if it's not the vavles that are the problem it would be a good idea to have them checked and put in spec, especially since it's a '04. You got it for pretty cheap so I would go through it and make sure everything is working right. Also check out that site I sent you the link for, there is a lot of good info on there and people that will help you out if you have any questions.

Get a quote from them first. If your dealership up there is anything like ours down here that price is gonna be alot more.

it could need a rebuild worst case senario... if it is an 04 for 1500 it could have been ridden hard and the piston/rings are worn out not giving you good compression so when it gets hot, it will expand and give you even worse compression causing too much air past the piston rings and making it stall...
just a thought, but i dont know much about this sport yet as these guys do so i would listen to them first.

Good luck,
