I have used ngk in everything i own for ever and never really have any failures. i have used champions that are terrible but some people like those better than ngks. there is a new one out with 3 electrodes you could give that one a try if you want. steve

NGK is all I will run in my EX. The current plug is almost 2 years old, have never had one foul to date.

Not really, could get iirc its an 18mm socket from sears and grind the sucker down. I did it and it works well.

go get an 18 mm deep socket and see if it fits on there if not you have to grind side walls of the socket

also the e3 is number e3.36 according to their site. it doesnt seem right though since it is the same for just about all of the machines. I know the ngks are not the same for everything but the old 2 strokes in the lineup. steve

thanks man. do you run the E3 or just the regular NGK plug? does the gap size matter?

i run the ngks religously in all of my stuff, but i dont always gap them. most of the gaps are good on the plugs that you get so i dont worry about it unless it goes in the cars mostly. if one looks bent or something i fix that though. gap size does matter though to make sure you are getting the correct amount of spark required for the heat of the plug and enough to ignite all of the mixture. you can also get DPR9Z which is the cooler plug that you can run for hot climates and such. steve

also usually the lower the number on an ngk plug the hotter it is, (i believe on champion it is the higher the number the hotter it is.) not too sure on this. another example to go with the 400 plug is the BR9ES and the BR8ES which is a hotter burning plug compared to the 9 as an ngk plug number. steve
