How hard is it to find t pim spindles by them self?what about the
Stem for that setup?

Very hard. I have been looking. The only reason to sell them separate is if the a-arms are trashed.

That's what I figured. If I could get a set I might be able
to reverse engineer some.

What would be better would be to make some 250R spindles that use 450R brake calipers rather than 400ex.

BTW - probably not worth it since after talking to both Dave Heron and Mark - it actually cost about the same to make them as to sell them.

I would use R brakes or 450r brakes. I'm not wanting to make them to sell them
I want to make them for myself

Call Laeger's, I'm pretty sure they have them available.

I might do that

Have any idea how much?

I was told $900 per spindle. Might as well buy a whole new Pro Trax. To bad they don't make the T-Pin sterring stem anymore and the spindles use junk 400EX calipers.

now the system uses a stock type stem and the tie-rod end. The other side is still the same as the 250r t-pin. According to laeger, you can use a 06-10 450r t-pin and be able to put your 250r hub on w/ 450r brake.

I wonder how pricy that's gonna be

On the replacement parts section for protrax it lists the following

Hyme x 2 - $28
Tie rod x 2 - $50
Monoball kit - $35
Small Clevis - $73
Large Clevis - $98
T-pin -$100
Inner bearings - $125
Lug assembly - $260

Now if we could decipher what each part is, we could probably figure out what is needed.

I would go for a used set of A-arms/stem and go for a new T-pin if they only cost $100.

Based on the above calculations and individual parts being greater than the combined it would be on par with the price of a protrax.

Complete protrax - $2300 (I don't think that includes stem) + $335

Individual prices - (above prices x 2 = $1618)
+ a-arms = $650

So if T-pin means just t-pin then you have to add all the rest then $200 if you have the rest.

Laeger's has really gone down the crapper since Mark left. Now they're just another mass produced un-innovative chassis parts company.

I mean look at Laeger's compared to Walsh back then, and now.

Laeger's was the top dog in the 90's, then Walsh came along. By the end of the 250 Pro class, the majority of the pros were on a Walsh.

WHY? Because he was innovative, and came up with designs that were newer technology and worked better!! At about the same cost.

I ran all Laeger frames and everything on my R's and hybrids... and I have a T-pin for the 450R I am building... but I think that's the extent of the Laeger's products I will own unless I get back on a hybrid...

It's sad to see a company go down like that when it's the only parts you ever wanted growing up :-(

The front end includes the stem.

The "T-pin" part is the part that bolts to the a-arm that the spindle turns on . When the bolts go through those holes that connect to the a-arms, they make a "T" hence.. "t" pin. Same with the parts t hat bolt to the tie rods.

I think that is the fate of most company's that get taken over.

LRD is another example.

Nac's is another example.

----

So the Lug assembly is the actual spindle?

$260 is at least less than $900.

I have some extra t-pin spindles I'd sell. They need to be rebuilt. I wanted to keep them just in case but everything is for sale for the right price! Any offers????

just talked to Scott Taylor, the t-pins spindle complete is $850 a side. on a bright note yes you can use a 450r t pin spindle in place of the 250r spindle
