I just finished modifying my 250x to accept the 400ex rear fender. I purchased a good seat for $50, a perfect rear fender for $40, and on with the install. I tried to put on my 250x seat, but the 250x seat is larger than the 400ex seat,so 250xseat on 400ex fender did'nt fit to well, so I bought a 400ex seat for the mod. Once I had the 400ex seat and fender, I went on to install. You should relocate the front standoffs w/rubber which secures the seat to frame of quad. I cut off the old mounts, reused the old mounts after some hammer work to straighten all the metal out, I took some flat heavy metal 1/16" thick,welded the old standoffs to the metal. Eyed up new mounts and welded them to the frame. Installed the 400ex fenders to the quad, without the fender wire brace, and all looks great. I'll try to post pics. I wrote this for the people looking to do this mod. Any request for picture angles I will try to post. I have not monted up my exaust yet, but hopefully tommorow I'll have the motor and all installed and running. Let me know what you guys think.
