450r Carb Hot Start Question

I just got my 450r carb today and it still has the hot start plunger and everything in it.The question I have is,do I still need to replace it all or can I use whats there and fill it in with black rtv like zrpilot did.

i will be doing just like zr did his, alot of people have had very good luck with his setup. i would not try to change it unless you have all of the stuff to use the hot start already, then in that case try it out. i heard it helps to start it up a bit easier but is not really needed. steve

Just go ahead and use the one you have. It should work fine.

I'm gonna do what zrpilot did too,I just figured if all the parts to the hot start are there and I can fill what I have in with rtv that there is no point in replacing it with new parts.
