i have an 07 ltr that i bought for a practice bike and the oil is not returning to the reserve tank it pulls it into the motor fine but will not go back into the tank. i checked the oil pump and cant see anything pysically wrong with it. what should i do.

that happened to mine but it was right after i got it back from the dealer..they had put the secondary oil pump (or something like that) in backwards

pull the gear off the pump and see if the pin is sheared if it is REPLACE the pump

The second pump on the left side of the motor is your problem, the pump on the right side pumps oil from the tankand circulates it the one on the left puts it back in the tank. They have a common shaft that drives both and if the motor was apart someone probably put the gear in backwards.
