I have a 2008 kfx450r This is my first EFI bike. If I install a HMF ballance slip on do I need a EFI controller or will the computer take care of it. There are no other performance mods done to it.

For a slip-on no...
For any good full system no...
However, the KFX's EFI system is "open loop" so it can only 'self-adjust' for altitude and temperature.
It has an air temp sensor and an air pressure sensor to read the data needed to make these adjustments.
It does not have a MAF sensor or 02 sensor to read increased air flow or air/fuel mixture. So it cannot adjust for changes in intake or exhaust.
The stock fuel map just happens to be rich enough to be OK with minor changes like a slip-on, good full exhaust, removing airbox lid....
I know it's a real pain to get to, but just do what you want and monitor the spark plug condition like you would on anything else.
