I want to get a slip on for my 400ex and was all set to get a Motoworks but then I saw an ad for the new HMF Competition Series pipe available starting 1/1/10. Has anyone read any reviews on the new HMF or is it pretty much under wraps until the release in 2010?

my opinon , then again its just my opinon ... HMF is the way to go ! .. i have asked that question on here as to whats the best exhaust, and most,if not a good portion have stated that HMF is the more bang for the buck... i really dont know much about the new HMF pipe, im just about as much in the dark as you or anyone else for that matter ...

then again there are more pepole on here more in tune with what is upcoming for the new 2010 riding season that would be able to answer your questions..

From reading the ad on the new HMF it seems to be the same pipe as they always made, only with a sticker and a new end cap. but if i were you i would wait to buy the HMF. great company to deal with.

I guess I will hold out until next year. I was leaning to the Motoworks because I read it was a little quieter than the HMF. But it sounds like the new HMF will be "tuneable" which could be nice. I'll wait until I read some reviews and see some feedback on the board. I just thought someone out there might have some inside info on it before it was officially released?

it doesn't hurt to ask questions... i think all might be interested as to what HMF has for the new year ..

Motoworks is running a special that if you buy a full system you get a pair of Goldspeed tires. Sounds like a good deal.

They don't list a full system for a 400ex on their website?

The engine in my '05 400ex is stock and I installed a uni air filter. Would I see any benefit from a full exhaust or would it be a waste of money for me compared to just a slip on? I have ground down the header pipe welds to improve exhaust flow a little already.

I saw a couple of pro-circuit T-4 slip ons for sale for about half the price of a new HMF or Motoworks. How does the T-4 compare performance wise? Are all three at about the same noise level or is one quieter/louder than the others?

get the full exhuast. i went with the slip on and ended up having to take a loss and buy the full system. Do it right the first time. A lot more power out of a full exhuast! I would wait for the HMF. Im not impressed with the motoworks exhuast.

Thanks for the feedback. Bang for my buck though on a stock motor should I spend around $100 on a used pro circuit t-4 or spend $250+ for a new HMF or Motoworks?

I did notice I have been seening quite a few used t-4's for sale. Maybe that means something...like people don't like them?
