I run the older style with Balljoints and have done so since 2004. Jody makes a great product. I will never hesitate to run anything other but JB.

i have both the Heim and the balljoint arms on my bikes, i do like the heim end ones better, i just like the overall design better, the lower arm has a bend in it, it helps with ground clearence and bottoming the arm out, handling wise isnt much different, but the heim end ones do move easier but they also wear out quicker then balljoints. If you get the balljoint arms, pay the extra money to get the uppers caster adjustable, they put the 2 heims at the frame mount instead of the bushings

how often would you have to replace the heim joints if, lets use for example you were to run nationals??

well the quality of the JB parts is good, the heims havent worn out on me at all, i bought them used and have used them for another year without any wear. The spherical in the lower arm is different though, they wear out quick and also become loose inside the arm. i had to make thin shims and also staked the bearing to keep it tight in the cup. I have replaced the spherical 1-2 times the whole year, the heims are still good.

I run JB XC arms, with balljoints because they last longer in the nasty elements that we run them in.

Does anyone know what the shock length is for the JB a arms (eye to eye) ? is it 20 or 20.5 " ?

thanks

(sorry for intruding, but I love my JB a arms, and feel they are top quality stuff, I have put my JB a arms through hell and back and they are still holding up well)

Deff go with the JB, you will be happy. I run the ball joint style and they are great a arms, and for the price and quality of them, you cant beat them! I would also suggest getting the adjustable uppers like eastside mentioned, its only like 75 bux more i think.
