my timing chain flew off my 400 the other day:mad: not good at all. so my future plans are....

hotrod +4 crank
440 bore, with stroker piston
sparks x-4 cam
450r carb
p&p
+1 valves
crf timing chain
clutch kit- havent decided what brand yet.

if anyone has any ideas on this build or has some information about the 460 let me know.

I have similar set up but with stock valves and a stage 3 Hot Rods cam youll like it I went from a 440 to the 460 stroker and its a different ride it will try to throw you off on pavement

how much is that gonna cost you, and couldnt u just sell your 400 and with the money you were gonna spend get a 450 and do some mods and have just as much power with more reliability?

yea you could bitc* out like the rest of them do and get a 450. or you can squeeze every last ounce of horses hidden in the engine like most men do. i suggest if you going all out i would get a wild port and polish because you get the most improvement out of it with a cam and +1 valves. another big thing that needs to be addressed is cooling since its air cooled i suggest the 4 inch fan or the fst mod. if you choose the fst mod i got some tips on how it make it easier.

I have almost same setup and i ride all woods and open fields but in the trails the 450 you are on the clutch a lot they are stall happy atv's. and plus when he is maintaining his quad 75% of the time im out riding.

yea im gonna do a spal fan mod, and i forgot to mention the gt studs im gonna get them too. i would get a 450 but since i already have the 400 and dont wanna part out and sell and make hardly no money im gonna build the **** out of it:devil:

if you wanna get everything outa it why not go 460? shouldnt cost that much more. and i dont get why everyone bad mouths anyone who talks about getting a 450r. ya i love my 400ex but come on like really its the slowest of the 400cc quads out there. plus the aircooled engine is far superior to the liquid cooled design, especially when u live in louisiana
