300ex Laeger +2 arms on a 400ex

I found some 300ex Laeger +2 arms pretty cheap and was wanting to know if they would work on a 400ex? I know that the 400's work on 300's to make the 300 a tad bit wider but not sure abou the other way around. Would the shock mounting points be different? Would it end up only being 1.5 wider?
