Is the bike all stock? If it is you are most likely going to get more for it all together then parting it out. Stock parts don't sell for much because everyone already has them.

The only time parting out a bike is worth it is when it has a lot of after market parts.

IMO the only things worth any real money on a stock bike that's getting parted out is the frame, engine, plastics and front shocks. And ur engines already toast.

Did you try shopping around for a used engine? I'd think you'd be able to get a decent used 1 for way less then $2,000.

I'm guessing the 2k bill for the repair is including labor from a shop?
What all needs to be replaced?

If only 1 case is messed up, that is only 800-1000 worth of parts.
Can you do that kind of bottom end work ur self?
I've seen people only pay about $500 in labor for a job like that.

i would shop around for a new motor you can find an all stock motor in good shape for 1100-1500 dollars but 2300 for an of really isn't that bad of a deal if it is in good shape.
