When you hear twin fiddles and a steal guitar
listenin to the sound of the american heart
opry music on a saturday night brings a smile to your face and a tear to your eye

sing a song about the heartland
the only place I feel at home
sing about the way a good man
works until the daylights gone
sing the rain on a roof on a summer night
but you still know wrong from right

sing a song about the heartland
sing a song about my life

from the movie pure country

Not sure if it's more hick or red neck ...... but what if you're sitting in a lifted Tundra Crewmax , blasting Brooks and Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe .... with a Chocolate Lab hanging out the back window .... a blaze orange hunting vest on the front passenger seat and a blaze orange hat tucked into the corner of the windshield and dash?

I usually get some funny looks from people.:ermm:

BTW .... I've been to a few concerts and Brooks and Dunn was BY FAR the best I've ever been to.

i'm not a hick nor a redneck. Hell I have a green mowhawk and sleeves of tattoos.

But on my player in the garage it can go from Black Flag and Millions of Dead Cops straight to anything by Johnny Cash or Hank Williams.

I have heard Hank 3 a few times and he's pretty good. Though I like his other band AssJack better.

But that bubble gum top forty country they play on the radio is just awful.

Justin Moore's new CD is pretty amazing, I should say. Almost ALL of his songs are really really good.

Van Zant has some really good songs when it comes to lyrics. "Help Somebody" is my fav.

Jason Aldean pretty much stole my heart from the get-go. He's even hotter in person :D

If you haven't listened to it in 30 years, then maybe you should change the channel and listen again....a lot has changed. All the country music I like is popular and upbeat- so I don't know what you're all sourpuss about. :grr: <---my sourpuss face.
