Be careful. Old stroker two wheelers are too often wore out.
Expect to invest some coin, but if you can buy for a
low price, it may be worth it. Mid 90's are worth $1500.

I would love to have that, give her needed TLC. Make her look showroom again and use her to blow all the modern bikes away.

Nice looking older bike. brings back memories for me, a buddy I ride with when I was little rode an 88 Cr80, similar looks just tiny compared to that monster.

Your size don't have anything to do with it. There's a "knack" to starting one of these beasts.;)

The key to starting them is to put it in a high gear rock it back and forth a few times then put make in neutral and kick the snot out of it. Should fire right up.

You know, I hear this alot about CR500's. I owned a 2001 CR500 for five years and thought it was easy to start. It was actually easier to start then my 250R. In all those years, it never once kicked back or anything, I guess I got lucky. I did always start it with my boot on though.:D Damn that was a fun bike, I wish I never sold it.:(

I would say the one you are looking at is worth around $1,000, depending on how it looks after you see it in person.

you also had the "detuned" motor that was nothing like that mid-late 80's beast, much different cr500

I would think a grand would be a fair price for that bike. You can get newer bikes for only a few bucks more.

That sure would be a lot of fun to ride!

those older 500's have weak cranks.
