My motor is stock other than a .030 over bore, fmf header and pipe, reeds and uni-filter

Seems like mine has a 42 pilot and 158 or 160 main, may need to change needle setting, where you @ in IN?

I'm just north of indianapolis
i just have a stock carb it runs excellent in all gears until i get maxed out in top gear and it just seems like it's not getting enough fuel at that point!

with the temps getting colder and you removing the lid you ahve leaned it out. go up a size at a time on the main frome where you are now until it runs better. i'd also raise the needle/lower the clip by one click.

also make sure the carb is good en clean.

You're not too far away, I'm just north of Terre Haute, mine still has a lid, but I have a deflector on it similar to a HRC one on a 450R so it's about the same as what you have. If you keep having trouble I'll check and see exactly what mine is all set at, can't remember for sure where everything is, should get you a good starting point at least.

Start with a new spark plug and gap it at .020".

you'll want to plug chop again when warmer rolls around lean her back down again. you'll want to try and achieve the honey color.

HERE (http://www.duncanracing.com/TechCenter/Keihincarbjett2004.pdf) is a link that has really good jetting info for these type carbs.
