A few weeks ago i went riding and felt like my wheels were loose in the air. i stopped to check and they were good. i rode half a lap and hit a double and looked down and the axle was flopping around everywhere. bearings went out and grinded out the inside of the carrier. i had to order a new tapered bearing carrier. i thought that would be all i needed. i went to put it back together and saw that there was too much up and down play on the brake hub side. i think the old bearing grinded out too much of the axle, maybe even too much of the brake hub. so i may need that as well. Are tapered bearings suppose to fit snug on the axle? seems that if i push the bearing further toward the middle of the carrier, there is no play, but as soon as i turn the axle, it slides back out and there is way too much up and down play on that side. Im not sure if im just missing something, or installing something wrong, but either way, looks like ill be needing a new RPM axle if anyone has one.
