Hey guys,

On the new 09 YFZr 's, if i want to buy aftermarket suspension (say fox's or elka's) do i need to buy aftermarket long travel arms?

Also, if so, what arms would you suggest?

Thanks!

the stocker's are already long travel. Just buy a new set of shocks. I have fox and I love them, just take a little bit of time to set them up right.

i think its houser that has some videos on how to measure everything so that your new shocks are right for the app. might check it out so you can be specific when you get ready to order your set..

alright thanks guys... so you are saying i wont have to buy any aftermarket arms because the stock ones are already long travel?

and also, i probably will be willing to sell my take offs when i do get new front suspension, but that isnt going to be for a while. like maybe not for a year or more..

Thanks guys

the R and X front end are long travel from factory. that means a-arms and shocks are long travel.

i would absolutely stay away from Elka. Fox, PEP, Custom Axis are some of the best shocks you can buy.

most aftermarket arms for the 450r do use a longer shock and are slightly wider.

Well I would be getting shocks before I would get arms... That or at the same time. Either way, still good to know.
Thanks for all the help guys, so far everybody on this forum has helped out a ton since I'm such a newbie or whatever.. Haha

Thanks again for all the input.
