I finally decided to replace my carrier bearings and while disassembling the carrier I noticed it was cracked.

I have seen that happen on quite a few stock carriers. I would spend the little extra and get a dual row or taper carrier. they are worth the money.

I like that carrier you can greese it without taking it out of the swingarm.

A couple of months ago my chainn come off the rear sprocket and wrapped around the carrier adjuster. When I began tapping the carrier out I noticed the crack (sort of u shaped) and then I said "fudge". Now I am looking for a new carrier. maybe it is time to get a new twin row carrier.

Where did you get that carrier from?

This whole project has not been a good one. I started off wanting to change my swingarm bearing, carrier bearing, and add a cam. I had to have Jeff @ quadshop cut the bolt out, now my carrier is broken. I am almost afraid to mess with the cam now. Maybe I need to use Rico's philosophy and drink more beer while I work.

I cant find any pics right now, i might take one tomorrow

somehow half of the side broke off (kinda like the one in the first pic) the bearings got siezed up, the axle wasnt straight and the axle was turning inside the carrier tube

I just got a billet double row carrier from www.atvbushings.com

It cost $129.00 plus $6.50 shipping. It took about a week to get it.

It looks like a very nice and well built unit.
