adjusting valves

ok so im new to the whole adjusting valves thing...iv never done it

can some one post some pics or a video on hoe to adjust them i have a 2001 400ex


also my bike ticks when it runs but doesnt smoke and runs with full power will adjusting the valves help this ???

or you could just read this article...its really simple, another thing, they make feeler gauges for bikes that are pre-bent...these are key unless you wanna bend yours.
