alright guys as yall know i totaled out the my 03' ram 1500 well with money being tight right now i still need to get back and forth to work..something cheap right now is looking good. A buddy of mine has a 1997 dodge ram 1500 ls 4x4 single cab, 201k miles. 5.2L 318 v8 5 speed that he will sell me for right around 2500$ i know the mileage is scary but this truck was well taken care of and there isn't a bit of rust or scratches anywheres on this truck. my only concern like i said is the mileage. would you pay this much? question, advice, anything?

thanks guys!

a 318 at 210K is likely to be getting fairly tired, I think I'd probably pass on that one.
you asked !

Your not gonna get much in terms or a decent reliable veicle for 2000 bucks. And trucks are always getting higher mileage out of their motors than cars. I just retired the old 1990 dodge ram last year and it had 240,000 I've had it since I was 17 drove the hell out of it and never did one oil change.......I'm 24 now. Anyways you can always swap engine and chit just make sure the frame and undercarriage isn't rotten and you should be ok just go easy on the old girl;)

lol i have to disagree with that, i picked up a rust free 96' ford t-bird with 120k on it for 600 buucks as a first car, sure it dont look the prettiest, but its reliable as hell! I've put 2-300 into it on just minor stuff that was neede but idk maybe i just got lucky??
