I have a set of rear black 250r maier plastics, and was wondering if anybody had ever mounted some up on a 450r. i set them on top of my stock ones, and they seem to line up pretty decent. the real problem i see is the seat lining up. any input would be great. i believe ill tackle this project tomorrow after school!!!

rough draft. it didnt line up perfect, but its pretty close, i even got the seat to latch. i need to drill a few holes and do a tad bit of trimming, and it should fit pretty good.

what?

also, i figured out what ill do for the gap. im going to find some old beat up or broken black 450r rears, and cut off the part that extends under the tank, and rivet it to the 250 plastics.

...a lowered subframe would compliment those fenders well ;)

Have you ridden it with em yet? I'm curious as to how they feel. Looks like the rear fenders stick a lil far forward right about where your calves would be..

no, i havent got the holes drilled yet, havent had the time. but i will trim some because the bottom hits my heal gaurds. i dont thing it will be a problem thogh, i normally snug the gas tank when i ride, i dont stand back...

whats the point of this? to be honest i dont think it looks all that great and more of like a hack job. just my 2 cents thow. but why would u do this if you could just get 450r plastics or use the ones you had?

who tinkled in your shredded wheats? i wanted to try it because it hasnt been done to my knowledge, i happened to have the plastics layng around, and i love the way the 250 plastics look. and if i thought i could manage to make a front set work, they would be on their too. i see it as a way to save money rather than buying 450r plastics. i like being different, i hated my bike when it looked like everyone elses...

Yea someone def. tinkled in his breakfast haha. I think it will look sick... And once you get it done and see what the final outcome is, I might consider it as well!

ive done it and it didnt work at all. but i know with just alittle trimming you can get 250r front plastics to fit

what didnt work about yours. where i had mine on my 300ex, they lined up pretty decent first try. the only thing in the way at the moment is the pegs on the back of my seat.
