Do I need a 20R tank???

Hi there guys: I'm ready to put 250R front bodywork on my 300. But the question is Do I need a 250R tank? After seeing this bike

(I hope the owner of this fine machine does not get mad at me for using it.)

I knew this what I wanted on mine. I have looked around, but have not been able to find exactly what is needed. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
What parts exactly are needed? Just fenders? or do I need seat, tank? I can take care of the rest.

dude i've all ways wanted to put 250r fenders on a 300ex

I had a set of 250r plastics and tank and was going to put them on my 300 but they were old and faded and looked like shat. The rears would have been easy. I would have to say it would be alot easyer to mount the plastics if you had a 250r tank. The 300 tank sits higher to clear the head so when I put the plastic over the 300 tank it didnt look right.

thanks for the compliments. we used the 300ex tank. you will put the 250r tank cover over the 300ex tank. youll have to tap some off the 300ex tank in with a hammer. youll have to change the petcock on tank allso. its not hard to do just take your time. for the rest youll have to weld some. just set the tank up first and everything eles will follow.

I trully believe that you have the best looking 300EX (or 250X) that I've seen.

yea, i had the 250r setup on mine, i just had to drill 2 holes and tap the tank in a bit, i didnt do anything with the petcock though. heres mine.
p.s.- i had the back on it, but it touched my exhaust. im in the process of mounting the rears on my 450r
