:huh

when it comes to trannys yeah, but the second gen motors have been proven to be easier to get more power cheaper.

You would probably need the 06 and up exhaust (not sure on that), the wireharness, motor mounts (may have to fab up some other ones) and the 04 05 radiator lines should work

i had a 2005 frame one time i was putting a 2006 motor in. the motor mounts are different, i cant remember which ones work. and if you dont custom make a battery holder you'll need the 06+ sub frame. i think the radiators are the same?

You will just need the appropriate mounts for the motor. If you use an 07 motor, you will have to use 07 mounts. The mounting location on the frames are the same. The radiators are the same. The mounts for the battery won't be hard. One battery will easily fit under the hood, or behind the airbox.

If you are wanting to put an e-start motor in 04 quad that still has the stock rear shock, it won't work. The starter will hit the reservoir of the shock. You will either need an aftermarket shock, or an 06+ shock, linkage, and swingarm.

reason i wanna do this is my 04 has been in shop 4 times now since i got the thing because something in the motor everytime happens shoot i didnt even finish my race so that why im tryin to get a newer motor

also i want the er because i race xc so its alot easier than kicking it

so which way would be cheaper to get a complete 06+ rear or after market shock

and i have the goki starter kit so a battery box is no big deal but what we were thinking was get a 06+ er aluminom airbox and use self taping skrews

electric start=more moving parts that can go bad and requires 2 batteries to start as fast a kicker
kick start= reliable and starts faster than a ER

For an amatuer xc guy with a budget, I would go back to all stock, dependable and still makes good power if ya throw a cam and exhaust on.
