wire modd?

ok, im new to this site so if this was already a thread my bad.
so my brother got his new 450r and he did this green wire mod that apparently makes the motor rev out to a higher rpm. then he said that i could to it to a 400ex, except that the wire was pink? please let me know if you actually can do this on a 400ex. and sorry again if i just reposted this. thanks.

i have never heard of this before but am kind of interested now. I highly doubt it would work at all. steve

yeah, i never herd of it before eithor. my brother said that before the 450r came out people used to do this wire mod on the 400ex but the wire was a different color

i was talking with my buddy and the ds is the pink wire you can cut not the 400s. steve

no prob, if you are wanting to increase your rev limit get a rev box but it really doesnt do any good since the 400 does not create any power up that high in the rpm range. steve

get a sparks key and you will be happier than you would be with a cdi box. steve

yeah there is no wires to cut to make the ex any faster. the pink wire your friend mentioned is on a can am DS450. it releases a race curve in the timing and allows it to rev out without limit. i work for a can am shop and this is a common confusion, i have people ask me to do it to there outlander 800's and there ski doo sleds because there all made by can am. (BRP actually) but as far as i knew the ds was the only one you can do it to, i had no idea the honda 450 has a wire mod like that too.
