shifter freezing 2002 kodiak 400

When it gets to freezing, my shifter freezes up and can't move it. Is there oil for tranny and oil for engine, or is it all together. I know there is moisture some place but wondering where? Once it gets warmer, works just fine. Thanks for any info.

I had the same problem with my 2000 Kodiak.
It turns out i have a small tear in the rubber that goes around the shifter. I patched this and it helps. There is a drain for the shifter. Just above the coolant reservoir. It is about 8 " long and drains the shifter. Pull the plug and let it drain. That should fix the problem.
