I am pretty sure I am hearing my chain slapping on my swingarm as I cruise at a constant speed. At first I thought I was hearing the engine ping or the timing chain slapping. I just changed to a 13 tooth front sprocket and the noise is worse or more constant.

How tight are people running the chain?

The manual says 22mm but that seems too tight. I have been running it pretty loose at 1.5 inches. I do this because of the stories of torn up sprockets that appear to be from too tight a chain. I don't want the chain to draw tight when the arm travels upward when landing off a bump or jump.

I usually run about an inch of slack with someone sitting on the bike

We have always ran 1 1/2" or so when sitting on the bike. We are also using a chain guide in the rear though.
