i am thinking about running maxxis irzr's on my 04 300ex. i run on sand, hard dirt, soft dirt, mud, snow-ice, and just about a little bit of everything. so what do you guys think, would they be a good tire for me, and do they work as nice as they look. and are they worth the money?

I've read that they hook up like magic especially in soupy terrain, but wear on the fast side.

true. i usually run my tires a tad on the low side so they dont wear fast. but thanks for the input

They do wear on the fast side. I run them at the muddy races, and usually run 4 or 5 races on them before ordering another set. They don't handle very good though. They're heavy, push in the turns if you are too hard in the gas, or the rear end will slide into the turn if you are not on the gas. For general riding, and someone not afraid to spend money on a tire, I would recommend the Razr2. Or regular razr, but they will wear a little faster.

I just saw that you are on a 300ex. I'd stick with the regular razr then. I razrs and Razr 2's rob horsepower and will bog a lower hp bike out in the mud.

Yeah; what this guy said. I have Razr2's on my 250R all around. They are phenomenal tires and really, really hook up well. However, they ARE heavy and sometimes hook up just a bit too much if you like to spin and slide a lot. A lot of XC guys seem to run the 2's on front and the regular Razr's on back just for that reason. They will definitely hook up better in sloppier terrain, I know that first hand. Regular Razr's may be a better choice, or the new Razr Ballance. If you would want to try Holeshots, I ran the XCR's all around on my 400ex in 21"/ 20x11x10 sizes and they worked awesome; light, predictable, good traction, and didn't rob hp- just not a lot of side bite.

I really couldn't tell you; I've never ridden on them but definitely wouldn't mind throwing a set on. They seem a lot like the Razr Ballance, except I don't think they are a radial.

i heard that they are nice on the 300ex and 400ex. and by the way, what does radial mean?
