lets hear opinions on what the riders of pitbikes think of them , reliability, suspensions ,looks etc..thinkin of purchasing a pitbike good enough for racing ..this would be for a 75-80 lb rider with over 100 AMA sanctioned MX races under HER :D belt already she's looking to possibly race them too

they dont cost much more than a stock 110, and youd have to sink 3k into a 110 to make it on par with the pitster www.ahpminis.com

spend that much and still be down on motor, its the equivalent of building a crf 450 hybrid today or buyinga ltr 450 and running it

Ive done a couple pitbike races on my klx110 just for fun since theres alot of down time at the track between races. The most fun I have on it is at home just screwing around in the yard on some bmx ramps

i dont know if id go as far as a 450 lol

i had a 05 drz110 built, 155 motor, everything done besides cases. marzocchi ktm65 forks, ishock vertical swingarm rear end and all the bells/whistles with about 3k into it.

buy used.

you can easily pick up a float/works shock for under $200, and kx65 forks for less than $200 as well.

pitsters are okay, but IMO its a hit or miss if your going to end up with a lemon or not

I hear ya about the down time ..
at some of the mx series races we go to they race the pitbikes after the saturday practice days are over in the evening,.. so she could race 'em then ,& seeing the track all day would help in her effort ..& help for her sunday races

i'd say go with a pitster, i couldn't be happier with mine. i love just riding around the yard and stuff its so much fun. i have an 07 Pitster Pro X4. Marzochi forks, cyclone rims, trail bikes 165cc engine, FMF pipe, much much more. the best part about it is it sounds like a 450 lol. well not quite but pretty close.

pitster pro is the way to go hands down. like srh said the 110s are under powered and need a ton dumped into them when you can just go buy a pister and ride.

If you buy a pitster make sure you Loctite/check all the bolts when you first get it.

110 might cost a little extra to get up to par but there close to indestructible, and easier to get parts for, not saying you can't get parts for a pitster, they just might be a few more days away from the 110 parts.
