has anyone recovered their seat themselves just using a store bought piece of vinyl of what ever it is. I was wondering if it works very well and what type of material you used. My seat is all tore up but i feel like $70-$130 is pretty much outrageous for a piece of material.

I just did 2 seats. One off of a foreman 450 4x4 and the other one was a 400ex. I used vinyl that bayliner uses to cover boat seats with.

The 4x4 seat has less of a slope near the gas tank and covered very easily with no wrinkles.

The 400ex seat has a bigger dip in it and I could not for the life of me get it on without wrinkling.

haha, I actually just did this today!

black vinyl from walmart, one yard $3.44

a little elbow grease and a staple gun and i got it on pretty smooth.

this vinyl was a little thin. I did this once before on a streetbike and the fabric was like just under ten bucks. better quality though.

You can get them for as little as $24 + shipping on eBay. Just search "400EX seat cover."
