i'd like to get a decent video camera. anyone have good ones? i'll use it to take along to tracks and stuff maybe the dunes, snowboarding a lot and when we're just riding and messing around at someones houes. so i guess one that can take a little abuse or has a good warranty.

and i think i want a digital one, i don't really like the mini discs or anything

any advice?

definitely stay with the Mini DV Tapes. i have a mini DVD one and dont like it. not as versatile when getting them on to comps and things like that.

the DVD's are made for shooting and keeping.
the DV Tapes are made for editing and things like that. i wish i had a DV one.

sorry i cant recommend a certain brand. other then if you get a SONY, you HAVE to use SONY tapes. their stuff is made to work with its own. similar to what Apple does with their comps and programs. ;)

thanks those look real nice but yea a little out of my price range. i don't really need one that good i was thinkin under $500? can i get a decent one for that.

and in my videography class in school we had sonys (forget what they were called) and they had the mini tapes. they were alright but what are advantages to having them compared to one that has a memory card that you just upload to your computer
