05 300ex eliticle problems

ok i have a 05 300ex and the elitric start wont work and the wire got on fire a while back and has little necked place in wire i wonder if its it are wonder if any one had any suggestions are the whole elitrce unit that works for sale or trade

ok my 05 300ex when i push the start button it does nuttin no even a click so its bad but wat do i need to buy to fix this thats my main and how much u think itll cost and heres wat i think happen i was ridin and a wire toched the coil caught wire on fire dident burn all the way trough it could be that but coil is good becuse the way i start it is get a screw driver and stick between to bolts on coil and touch both and it starts

dude its the solenoid. i literally had the EXACT same problem. although, i think you are talking about the solenoid, not the coil. all you need is a new solenoid unless one of your wires is broken but yeah just a new solenoid. it shouldnt cost you more then $40

onto your problem. i do beleive it is the solenoid. my old 300 was acting this way also. if you can jump the solenoid, and it will start, then the solenoid is bad. im guessing that is what you mean buy coil.
