Switch?

my LTR450 broke third gear for the second time yesterday....
should i rebuild it with a built engine, atp 3rd gears, and fox shocks or put the stock gears in and sell it...then build a 05 TRX from the ground up???
what would the price difference be to have A class quads out of both??..thanks for yor help!

honestly i would go for the honda. only major problems with the 04 05's were the crank issues and not all the 04's had the crank problems mainly the 05's,my brother has had his 05 since 06. and we just rebuild the whole motor crank up this past month. very strong bikes, you dont have to do a whole lot to them either. mainly suspension. id go for the honda..:macho

All depends what your comfortable on. If your comfortable on the ltr, keep it and build it up. Or sell your current bike and purchase a race ready bike already.

i dont want to buy a already built quad cause in know they have been raced and beat...i would either buy a stock quad or just a frame and stock engine and then buy all aftermarket stuff

i'm pretty comfortable on my quad but i'll see if i can ride a honda somewhere to try it.

not necessarily! most of the guys i know that race take better care of their stuff then the average joe. because they dont want anything breaking or going wrong during the race. id buy a bike ive seen all year racing then one out of craigslist or something.

true...but i dont need a full race built engine yet cause i dont want to run race gas...just something with good shocks and reliable for now...

i know the 05s had good trannys....what year would everyone recommend?

i've been racing my trx450r since 04 only put third gear in it one time. i know several people that have problems with ltrs trannys more than once. also heard pro riders rebuild ltr trannys every other race. LOVE my honda.:D
