Nerf Bars with heel guards

I've come to the conclusion that there are no nerf bars with aluminum heel guards available for a 2008. Are there any aluminum nerf bars available that work without removing or majorly modifying the stock plastic heel guards? I bought the DG's and it looks like the stock heel guards will have to come off, although the instructions don't mention removing them.

i have a set of AC racing bars and it looks like the heels will fit with a little trimming(even though i dont use them)

try to find a set on ebay or something like that with some room in the back;)

Talked to the dealer again today and they ordered me a set of DG fat series. They say they bolt to the front of the pegs and retain the stock heel guards...we shall see.

There is a pair of aluminum heel gaurds on ebay for a 250ex for $15. They look pretty nice.

Those look pretty nice. I ended up with the DG fat series. While they are small, all I was looking for was something to protect my kids feet in case she comes off the foot pegs.
