Welp I haven't ridden my ktm in over a month because of school so when I go to ride it I have no idea where my key is.. I have torn my house, car, truck, shop, laundry room and even taken a few parts off my ktm to look for it. When this weekend comes I don't care if I have my key or not...

So my question is.. how do I go about hot-wiring my own quad? :D

cut the power wire off the key switch or whatever you call it and connect them to an on/off switch. should work.

cant u just unplug the key and jump the solenoid? depends on what sort of security features it has, i wouldnt put a toggle in, u should be able to just unplug the switch and run a jumper wire and get the right combo and it will be on

I'm almost positive it was in the pocket of my pants that were dirty and now they're washed. No where to be found..

If your washer ate your key.. then holy chit, what a wahsing machine!:p

We hotwired my dad's 700r one time. We drove 4 hours and realized his key was at home..:chinese:

Take the two wires off of your ignition switch, connect them together, or put them on a toggle, and jump the solenoid.

Its ghetto, but it works. And if you can't reach the solenoid, then put it in 1st, and either tow it, or roll it down a hill and jump it off.:)

mine eats my socks. its either that or the drier.

also call your ktm dealer they can have another key made for you that will fit your bike might cost a few bucks but better then going to cut up everything just to hotwire

All of my quads are hotwired, its so much easier than misplacing a key then fighting for it all the time. One less hassle

I forgot my key when we went to the dunes last summer so my dad ran a jumper cable between two wires... Turns out without my key the fan doesn't ever turn on and the heat light came on... Don't know if a KTM will have a similar problem.

Hey, a good way to do is get a razor blade and stick it in one wire and the other wire from the ignition so that it is down to the bare wire on both then hit the start button.

Which 450?

You might be able to hot wire it, but alot of new quads have resistors in the key switch. The resistance must be correct or it wont turn on. I was going to put remote start on my brute force when I found this out.
