i have a 300 and i want to find out if there is any way i could squeeze a 660 raptor motor in there. i know i would have to make new mounts and move a few things around, or is there any other motor (250R, dirt bike motor, snowmobile motor) thats have power compared to the 300. i would really like to put a 440 snowmobile motor in but was wondering if anybody has heard of this being done?

just buy a rapturd!!

nah hey, you can slip a 350x motor in that frame with little trouble, a few guys here will inform you of the details.
250r motor....yes, but there's a LOT of modifying goin on there.

your best bet is to get the 350x motor...easy convertion...buy a complete running 350x and you can use the swingarms too, and air boot, and a few other things too maybe.
the 660r? not sure about that one man....you could prolly wedge it in there some kinda way, but you might have to cut the front f your seat off so the top of the engine can have room (kidding) it'll be tight....

350X....CALL "SERVICEHONDA" i think $1500.00 buys you a brand new assymbled crate motor, without electrics...or you could prolly brows e-bay for a few months and get a complete running 350x for around the same price and take what you need and sell the rest back on e-bay...or here...
i'm pretty sure there's a company that makes an engine kit for the 350x. if so...you'll be running right with the 400ex's

gusset your frame, add a 250r or 400ex front end, 400ex header, (i think you have to customize your exhaust for the 350x engine)
and you've got a race ready 300ex for cheap...
lower wider longer and faster (aftermarket shocks with the front end, and swingarm convertion for racing, and big airs)

is the 350x kick start. Because i am seriously thinking about putting a 350x engine in place of my 300ex engine. Also, how much do you think i could get out of my 300ex engine.

the 350x is a kickstart.
with a 6-speed tranny.

not sure what you'd get out of your motor. couple hundred i'm sure..well it's an '01 model so you'd prolly be able to get a nice penny for it....i'd list it here, e-bay and at
mr.dunes sandbox swap meet
i think thats "mrdunes.com"
try a couple of other forums also

you gotta think htough can your quad handle alll that force of a bigger engine like a 660r a 250r cause its 10x faster than you mild mannered 300ex................

you also gotta think about chain alignment you might have to cut your engine out shaft and stuff its alot of work and when i see one for sale i dont even think about buyin one cause its a headache to me........................

also, if i did do this then could i still use my pro-circuit silencer. I know that i would have to get a different headpipe, but do you think that i could still use the silencer.

might want you use a 400ex slip on too,
that or a 350x slip on,

just depends on how far back the 400ex head pipe goes on the 300ex frame,...see what i mean.
like i said man, i havn't done this swap, nor have i seen a swap up-close...but i remember a guy on this forum saying that he used a 400ex header, and modified a slip-on for it.
he didn't say what model bike the slip-on was for.

what about a cr250 dirt bike motor will that fit in? it is probably pretty close to the size of the 300ex motor and and way it mount to the frame are probably close too?

i'm pretty sure it'll fit.
BUT.
you need yo find out if the cr motor is counter balanced.
think about a cealing fan in your house, stick a close pin on one blade...it wobbles, it's not balanced.
if the motor you use isn't counter balanced, it'll "wobble" just like that. it'll vibrate "shake your teeth out"....
i don't know if that motor is, or isn't.
freind of mine stuck a CBR600 engine in a banshee frame.
he said it was vibrating real bad...i asked if it was balanced, he said he didn't know....well there ya' go...might not be

i can tell you its not ounter balanced which means you will have soem mean vibrations. One way to cut down on thsoe is to rubber mount the motor to the frame

there is no other way to stop the vibrations
