Just out of curiousity, why would you want to replace a twin piston caliper with a single piston caliper? The 250R brake is known to be superior to the 450R one.

450 r caliper with pads= $75

250r caliper no pads=$275

lol..i had 250r rear components with 450r caliper on my yfz, the place i got it from isnt making them anymore, it was just a diff bracket worked well

price and availabilty is the thing.I can get a stock 450 setup from steve, put the 250r stuff in the tool box and have a spare.plus the 450r caliper is cast and looks alot nicer in my opinion.plus the brake stay is nicer.i just like that set up.

use the front of a crf450 or yz450 all you need to do is ofset on hole on bracket about .100 th works good

I have 400EX spindles and just put YFZ450 front caliper, it's bolt on!

You can use 06 up 450R spindles and calipers. Rotors and hubs will interchange. Its not that difficult to put all 450R brakes on a 250R.

Wonder why you would want to do this to a 250R? It seems as if everyone says the 06-up 450R spindles are the worst ones Honda ever made for handling. I know my 06 450R steered like crap.

One thing though, at least those spindles can be bought for cheap!

Brandon, If you use the 450r brake stay, calipar & rotor/hub your all set!!! The spline on the axle Is the same.

The geometry of those spindles is closer to 250R and 400ex spindles.

O4-05 450r spindles handle better than the 06 and later setup. I race XC and most of the Honda riders have swapped to 04-05 front ends. My personel 250r has on 04 spindles calipers and hubs up front, and i use a 450r rear caliper too. All you need is the rear brake caliper, brake stay, and brake hub/rotor. The 250r parts work great, but the 450r stuff is so easy and cheaper.
