Rear grab bar that fits 88-89. I am unsure of the brand. $65 shipped to lower 48 states. It is in great condition. Here is a pic.

OMG - why is it that every time one of these pops up it has to be for an 88-89 style instead of the 86-87?!

And the heck did honda change the way the rear grab bar attaches between those years - how dumb was that?!

It's a PRM grab bar ;)

DanHung has one that says Dirt First on it... never heard of it, though... It is a beast of a grabbar!

I might be interested, if you still have it later on. Kind of spent my wad this week. :D Wifey is starting to take notice...

PRM bars usually have a lil tab welded on for a flag whip.

Also - the PRM doesn't have that crossbrace just rear of the mounting holes.

So what stops this from fitting 86/87 - could you just drill two extra holes at the proper spacing?

Or is it too wide or narrow besides?

I noticed the difference between the 86-87 and 88-89 is the mounting hole spacing. I have had to make other aftermarket rear grabbars to work by simply "elongating" the mounting holes accordingly.

Now some aftermarket bars already come with elongated holes such as this BUT I do not currently have an 86-87 frame to verify if this would work or not.

you just have to drill one hole on each side in the proper location and it should work for you. i have done this before on my
older 250's years back.

It's easier to make an 86-87 bar work on a newer quad. There may not be enough stock an an 88-89 to work on the older quads without the bar sitting too far in. There's a pretty big difference in the spacing of the holes.
