i was wondering exactly what i would need. and if there were any interchangable parts like i've heard the raptor shock might be cheaper than the honda shock. and i was wondering how much longer my travel will be with it, and how much higher will the rear end sit? THanks alot

a lot of what you're looking for can be found through the search button

-never heard of the using the 400 swinger
-450 fits fine with all 450 component (carrier, axle, brake stuff, etc.)
-^^same with the 250r (88-89 swinger is better than 86-87)
-raptor shock is used with the stock 300 swinger
-for the 450 or 250 swinger conversion, you'll need the 250r shock and then it'd be best to have it rebuilt and revalved for your weight
-you will need to weld a linkage bracket onto your frame so that you can hook up the linkage to something

it's not a cheap/real easy thing to do if you want it done right

so what is better about the raptor shock?

and is the 450r longer, and will it give me more travel and make it better for jumping/racing?

the 2001 raptor shock has a remote reservoir and can be rebuilt/revalved easily

the 450r swingarm is longer

the 400ex swinger is about 1.8" longer tha a stock 300ex. I have a 400 swinger on my 300, from what I read about the 450 and 250 swinger the installation is about the same as it would be on a 400. As for the 450 I am almost positive there are two differant lengths. 05 to 06 is about 1.8 inchs loger than 300 and 07 and up are 3" longer. I think it realy depends on who you ask as far as how to do the swap some say the sprokets wont line up and some say they do. and set the stage is deff right it is not cheap or easy if you wont it done right. It is very time consuming, but in the end it is well worth it.
