whats the wire connected to clutch for?

went out riding today and fliped the ltz over and bent up the clutch handle and broke wire that goes from the clutch perch to a connector in front of the steering post..wanted to know what it was for.

the wires are for the safety that allows the starter to engage when you depress the clutch lever and the wheeler is in gear

I Broke it so this means I can only start the atv on neutral now. I orders the part but if it does not arrive in time I will use it like that.. Thanks

depends mine broke and now it starts in gear without the clutch being pulled ran my leg over couple times but now im used to it and remember to makesure it not in gear
