Broken Axle IRS

525 Outlaw. Not sure what year, I think 08. Is this a common problem on these things??

We were out riding today and my friend went to spin the quad around and it blew an axleshaft. The quad MAYBE has 25 hours on it.

Anything I should tell him to look for?? Upgrades??

Actually never heard of a axle shaft breaking. Lots of rear end bearings, and a couple of joints, but this is the first shaft that I have heard of. He might consider replaceing the inner bearing while it is apart, especially if he rides in H20 and mud. The stock bearings are CHINA, and I would get somthing better.

First time I have heard of this.

Definitely replace the rear carrier bearings while in there!!!!!!
