hard throttle

Has anyone else ever noticed their thumb throttle feeling stiffer than other throttles???
My throttle up against a trx450r or ltr450 throttle, mine is just down right hard (stiff).
My throttle operates fine, it just KILLS my thumb after awhile.
Is it the cable or is it the thumb throttle itself??

Not at all... usually people buy 400ex throttle assemblies to put on their other bikes because they're "softer"

New throttle cable might be what ya need. I had one that was so soft it was insane on another quad till I replaced it.

are you running a stock carb? they have very hard springs. if you take the black cover off the carb you can see the spring. use a straight screw driver to pry the end out and let it spring around 1 full turn it helps alot...

Mine was like that the first day I road it. until i put a new cable on it. It did help some, I never messed with the spring in the carb.
I now have a 450 carb and it is way better.
