08 450r timeing

My buddy just bought a 2008 450r. It is 100% stock. Can you jump the timeing a few degrees for a preformance gain? Any other things you can do without droping a bunch of cash let me know guys.

Cut the green wire, remove air box lid ,exhaust insert and rejet
to 165 main, 07 CRF needle (middle pos.) will gain about 4 hp!

it's the one that plugs into the blackbox under the hood and it will give you around 1k more of rev i never did it on my bike but i may do it just to check it out and see how much it helps, but when you get done tell us what you think

You don't want to the retard or advance the cam, since it controls both the intake and exhaust valves. Do what Sturdivant mentioned and you should be good to go.
