I am doing a report on motocross and need to know the history of it. Some of the things i need to know are like , who was the first to produce a production dirtbike? who was the first to produce a quad. I think suzuki was the first quad with the lt250r in 86, correct me if i am wrong. My report is not quad bias but the whole motocross scene rather.

I believe the first quad as the Suzuki LT125 in '82 or '83. I believe Honda started the dirt bike trend, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Just doing a wikipedia.org search on Motocross will probably get you a lot of your information.

most schools dont let you use wikipedia as a source. however you can go to the site and look at some of the sources used to write the article.

In the 1920s races known as scrambles were taking place in the countryside of Great Britain. They were the first form of motocross races.
motocross started on stripped down street bikes and wasnt too relevant til the mid 50s and progressed from there, i think suzuki was the first to step up and make something that really resembled a mx bike
