Noises, and a few questions

Ok i just bought an 07 400ex a day ago, but cant help but to hear this freakin TICKINNN noise, i know they make some tickin but i want to double check if this is ok. I found a video of what mine sounds exactlly the same!! here is the video. :mad:

Also one quick question, Do you check your oil by screwing in the dip stick or not??

When checking the oil DO NOT screw the dip stick in.

These machines just tick, no way around it. If your valves are adjusted right, you have fresh oil and she is running strong then you should be good. To check the oil start it up and let it idle for a few min, do not rev it, then shut it down unthread the stick wipe clean and stick it back in without threading it in to get your reading. Hope this helps.

they do tick, but if your valves need to be adjusted, then it makes the noise worse. i would check your valve clearances, and if they are fine then i would ride it with the noise
