My true first one was a 2 stroke 90cc four wheeler. The first four wheeler I ever actually went out and rode in the woods on was a 1987 250x fourtrax. I paid 75 dollars for it, lol. The engine was sitting in a box with gears all over the place, but the 250 engine was all together. The gears were from a trashed 300 motor. The piston needed replaced on the 250. We replaced it with a wiseco high compression piston. After we were done putting it all back together we came across a great deal on a set of orange plastics and a black powdered frame. Once it was all back together it looked brand new.

Before it was put together

Suzuki LT230 sport, found it on CL for like 500 bucks in pretty good shape.

Was actually pretty nice and quick, after i fixed the choke on the carb it started much easier too lol.

Sadly it kept leaking a bit of oil and i forgot to add some and one day it blew. Its sitting in a thousand parts and i have like 3/4 of a motor laying around I got pretty cheap.

Now I got a EX and love the thing, need to put on some new bars, steering stem, tune the carb, new battery, etc. Nothing some money wont help.

my parents bout me a brand new 2007 400ex. My friends wanted me to go to the state fair so I went. (I dont' know why but I guess I knew the 400 would be there when I got back so I went)

Anyway when I did get home my seat plastic was half ripped off and i asked my dad why he did that.... he said he didn't he was gonna let me but my puppies decided they wanted to instead. haha They also chewed on my plastic heel guards some. Boy was I mad til I realized its gonna get scratched to heck anyway on trails.

I bought a 400$ yamaha blaster with the motor not running because of a wiring problem. i plugged in the coil wire and it fired off haha but the crank was knocking so i took it apart and put all my money into it and came out with a beast but sold it and got a junk 400ex and rebuilt it from the frame up and its the best i've ever rode!!!!!!

my first actual gas fourwheeler was a moto 4 80cc blue beast. it was fun though. then after that we had a blaster i used to ride if i could get it kicked over on the first shot. Otherwise i was not big enough to kick it again. lol. then i moved to dirt bikes for a while and had a 50, 80, 100. then moved back to a 250ex, after I out grew that i bought my 400 that i have now. I have been riding since i was about 4-5 yrs old when i started to ride the 80 around the yard. We had the blaster when i was 10 i believe. lol. Awesome machine to rip around on when you are that size. Steve

Might i add i have never flipped one or hit something, only hit by one of my buddies. He only hit my nerf though on my 400 so it was no big deal. Steve

lol I wish I had your luck, third time out on the 250 i broke my arm, I should've checked where i was riding before i decided to fly through the field in 4th gear. I ended up hitting a ditch, the four wheeler was fine but I cracked my arm, lol. That tought me to slow it down and be more careful.

moto4! mine was red though. got it when i was 4, flipped it when i was 5 lol. i was trying to jump a creek by my house. sort of got out of riding, then got a warrior when i was 10. rode it for 2 years, and got my 400ex. bored it to 440, blew 7 headgaskets, moved down to 416, and then built my hybrid. and here i am, bored out of my mind in my dorm room, wishing i was at home working on my bikes

I was alone in some sand pits one day and saw this nifty little jump. I decided to do it, had a launch and land ramp.

Well what I neglected to notice till I got to close was someone (why they ever did this idk!) dug a 4ft deep by 4ft long by 2-3ft wide or so hole between the ramps. I saw that and choked and went right into the hole.

Smashed my thigh into the handlebar and hurt my arm/shoulder pulling the thing out of the hole.

Ever since then I prefer racing around and no big jumps.

I just spent 45 minutes looking for my photo album cause of this thread and now I feel old....lol...Im only 25 but this was 11 years ago already. Though it sure doesn't seem like that long ago.

Anyway...

My 1st quad was a 98 Kawasaki Lakota 300. My parents got it for me for my 14th birthday. I got home from school and my dad told me to go get a screwdriver out of the shed. Soon as I opened the door, BAM!!, there she was :D

Only time mine rolled over was I got a big tree limb stuck up in my a arms and nerfs. I looked back and a idiot on a predator was riding my butt and then coming around the curve the end of the limb dug into the ground. I was going probably 25 and it flipped over sort of diagonally and was resting on the handlebars. I would of stopped instantly if that guy wouldn't have been on my bumber and I wouldn't of bent my bars.... I myself never touched the ground it threw me off onto my feet, I looked back feeling sick though haha.

My first quad was the one I have now... my '05 400ex. I got it with some extras for 2 grand about a year or so ago after going out on a friends 250ex with the boyfriend a few times. He got a new kfx450 and I got my 400ex soon after so we could ride. Now I ride an average of 3 times a week!! I'm hooked.

This is what Rex looks like now, after I wrecked and flipped it on Tuesday. Fenders ripped off so I shaved them down, replaced the top and head light assembly with a hood. Relocating the reverse switch to the handle bars. Just put on a new White Bros. exhaust, 450R shocks, and in the process of purchasing a-arms and gettin the frame stripped to powdercoat.

My very first atv i ever owned (i owned a little trail bike, old school Honda 50cc big wheel from like the 70s there was more duct tape on that then actual parts. haha that's another story tho.) So i saved up basically my whole life to buy my very own atv. I was 13 at the time and i didn't want any one to help me buy it so i saved every thing i made and finally couldn't take it any more and ended up buying a beat up 87 250x for $800. Worst buy ever. Got it home my dad drove it to the shed turned it off to adjust something never worked after that. But got my money back out of it. Lesson learn t don't buy in a hurry.
