check this bad boy out. KTM has been kicking around the idea of making a production 350cc race 4 stroke. for some of yall that dont follow sx/mx racing, the AMA and the FIM are thinking about dropping the cc displacement down to 350cc's from the big 450cc bikes that everyone races now. the reason for this is cause a 450 indoors is a monster to handle/ride/race. riders are jumping whole sections with one twist of the throttle. and some are riding way over there heads in order to control the monster bikes they ride. and they say only a true few riders out there actual use a 450 to its full potential. most riders only use about 350cc's of the 450cc's that the bike has. so KTM has stepped up and made its new 350sx-f for the upcoming sx series. Mike Alessi will be back on orange next year to try and take this new bike to the top of the box. AND ON TOP OF ALL THIS, IT NOW COMES WITH A REAR LINKAGE. YAYYYYYY!!!! :D
heres the statement straight from KTM.
KTM 350 SX-F FACTORY RACING
By presenting a 350cc pre-series racing bike, KTM again illustrates the typical determination of the Austrian company to go its own way. With the confirmation in Milan of the key data of the 350cc, including injection and linkage, the tradition-rich offroad specialist is forging “a new path” in Motocross. While the company’s 250 SX-F and 450 SX-F models have been so successful and oriented to suit the specific displacement of the sport’s regulations, now KTM is the first manufacturer in the world to present a 350cc displacement bike for the sport of Motocross. The completely new bike, which will be “ready to race” from 2010 carries the distinct development signature of MX legend Stefan Everts right down to the finest detail. With this project, the KTM MX team boss deploys meticulousness and all his unique ambition to catapult it to a new MX level. A concrete date for series production of this already very mature prototype has not yet been decided.
