96mm on an 04

i got a 96mm cylinder for 50 bucks its for an 04 what will this make it displacement wise? 470, 480??

yea i've always wondered about the 06 and up jugs on the 04-05 450r's i can't remember where i read it at, but i've seen it somewhere where they did it when i rebuilt my 05 i just bought a new 05 jug i didnt want to take the risk of it not working but if it does tell me it would be a cheap big bore kit or cheaper anywayz

the dowel pins are opposite...same with the heads.. the cam towers are the same tho.

why wouldn't i be able to swap jugs? i mean i know ill need a new piston but its just a bored cylinder coated and all??

quad dude. you can use it. for some reason these guys are thinking that you are trying to use a 06+ cylinder.

if its used check the bore for flaws and roundness as well as egged shape. if all is good cp and je both sell shelf pistons for a 470 and both are good.
a bored stock cylinder at 96mm will handle any compression you throw at it.

the big problem with running a 06 cylinder on a 04 is not the dowel pins but the cylinder height. remember the 04 rod is 5.5mm longer and the 04 stroke is 2.8mm longer
